DANIEL OLUFISAN, BSc(Hons), MSc(Eng), IEng, MRAeS

Daniel Olufisan is the founder, training director, and principal airworthiness consultant of Wing Engineering Limited.

Daniel is a consultant specialising in the initial and continuing airworthiness of aircraft. He is an Incorporated Engineer with the UK Engineering Council; UK’s regulatory body for the engineering profession. He is also a Member of the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS), a past Chairman of the Society's Airworthiness and Maintenance Specialist Group (A&MSG) committee, and an elected member of the Society's Council.

Daniel first became involved with the airworthiness sector in 2003, during an undergraduate internship with Bellview Airlines (Nig.). As an intern he was exposed to a broad range of activities including line maintenance, continuing airworthiness management, and the procurement of parts and spares for the airline’s fleet of B737-200/JT8D aircraft. Following his undergraduate studies, he got involved with an aviation events firm where his role was to plan and organise aviation seminars. He later pursued and completed a Masters degree in Aerospace Engineering with Distinction at the University of Salford, before joining Eastern Airways (UK) in 2008 as a technical records and maintenance planning engineer for the airline’s fleet of BAe Jetstream 4100/TPE331-14 and SAAB 2000/AE2100 aircraft.

In 2009, he took up the post of Aircraft Engineering Lecturer with the University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI) Perth College, where he spent over 3 years and held a number of module and programme leadership roles. He was also actively involved with the initial accreditation of the University’s BEng(Hons) programme in Aircraft Engineering by the Royal Aeronautical Society, and in the development of a number of modules including the Quality Systems and Airworthiness Management, and Aircraft Engineering Reliability and Maintenance Management modules. Furthermore he initiated, conducted, and published a research on the application of lean management principles to aircraft maintenance production, during which he completed a case study visit to the Lufthansa Technik MRO facility in Hamburg to observe and learn from their pioneering lean activities.

In 2011, he founded Wing Engineering Limited; a professional firm specialising in the provision of airworthiness training, consulting, and management services to the aviation industry. He has since been the company's training director and principal airworthiness consultant.
